DIY Air Filter! The “5 Gallon Bucket” Air Filter. Awesome Air Purifier. Can be run On or Off-Grid (w/battery or solar panel). full instructional video. fan is a 12vdc 800ma (10 watt) fan. filter i chose to use is a 3M cut-to-fit 20x30x1 washable/reusable air filter ($5 from lowes). removes dust, lint, dust mite debris and pollen. it’s rated merv 4 and is advertised to be 2x effective as a standard fiberglass filter. (chose your air filter based on your needs). *i’ve included an effectiveness or dust removal test directly following the “build footage”. cleared the air in 30 to 40 mins. for off-grid operation use either a 12vdc battery or a 12v solar panel (any 12 volt panel that produces at least 800ma will run fan *at full speed). solar panel in video is a 12 volt 1 amp (1000ma) panel. battery in video is 12v 12ah. for on-grid operation use a 12 volt dc transformer that outputs at least 800ma or just use an ac fan.
