What the heck is “partial” off-grid home solar anyways?

July 20, 2017 – Off-grid, partial off-grid, grid-tie, hybrid…what is my system? My DIY home solar power system is considered to be a “partial” off-grid (grid connected via transfer panel–either/or type energizing). I DO NOT SELL POWER BACK TO THE UTILITY COMPANY. In this area where there is no net-metering. I also talk about summertime “Peak Hours” pricing and how having a home solar system can alleviate grid stress and offset buying that high priced electricity.
