Here’s something new in the world of electric vehicles.
Students at Eindhoven University of Technology have developed a five-seat solar car.
The “Stella Vie” is the third solar-powered car created by the team, but this model has a better battery life and fewer solar panels than previous iterations.
On a sunny day, the car can travel for 650 miles on a single charge and reach speeds of up to 80 mph.
The team is also developing a dynamic solar navigation system which displays the best route and parking spot to gain the optimal charge for the vehicle.
The car will compete in a nearly 2,000-mile long World Solar Challenge in October.
If you’re a betting kind of person…FYI — the team has already won the event twice before.
