“SOLON Investments planned and built two turnkey solar power plants with a total nominal output of three megawatts on the former site of two launch pads for intercontinental nuclear ballistic missiles, according to a solarbuzz report, inaugurating the first ground-mounted solar power plants in France.
About 14,500 SOLON Blue 230 polycrystalline solar modules were set up on the converted site and can generate enough energy to supply 3,000 people with electricity per share.
The company commented, “”These power plant projects are an excellent demonstration of how photovoltaics can create added value; former military sites are now hosting solar power plants that generate environmentally-friendly energy and reduce CO2 emissions.”"”
