Product reviewed: RAVPower 24 Watt solar charger.
Overall: This is the best solar charger I have seen in its category. With 3 USB ports it can deliver more power than the rest of the 24-25 Watt chargers that only have 2 USB ports. It allows you to charge a tablet, a smartphone and a powerbank at the same time. And if you only charge a tablet and a smartphone at the same time, it provides just as much electricity as a wall outlet.
PROS:
1. 3 USB ports. All other 24-25 Watt solar chargers have only 2 ports.
2. Even though it’s bigger than the 15 Watt Ravpower solar charger, it weighs the same, which means it’s lighter for its size.
3. Even in very overcast days nearly raining I was able to get about 0.4 amps from the charger, which is good enough to charge a smartphone in case of an emergency. In full sunlight I got about 4 amps, but it’s actually capable of delivering up to 4.8 amps.
CONS:
1. I’m not too crazy about its dimensions because by being taller than an iPad it makes it more difficult to angle it towards the sun. The solar panels could be redesigned so the charger is not as tall. Then again, all solar chargers in the 24-25 Watt category are about the same size.
2. They don’t sell it in America yet! In America we’re stuck with 2-port solar chargers. And the reviews I’ve seen for those don’t show 2 full amps of power for 2-amp devices. How I got this one? I had to have this charger sent to Europe and then a friend who was traveling to Europe brought it back to America. But if you are in Europe, and you can get one of these, it’s definitely worth it.
