Off Grid Solar – Why a 100W panel isn’t enough – Part two

Here I get down to the nuts and bolts of why my solar power system is struggling with a 100W panel. I’ve hooked up a watt meter to find that on an over cast day, I was only able to generate about as much electricity as my fridge uses.

This doesn’t allow much for charging losses and inverter losses, so it’s important that I get more panels.
