Hybrid car carrier equipped with HIT solar modules and the lithium-ion battery system [Panasonic]

A hybrid car carrier that incorporates natural energy, the “EMERALD ACE,” jointly developed by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and Panasonic set sail.
The vessel is equipped with Panasonic’s “HIT Double” solar modules that are resilient against high temperatures and can absorb sunlight reflected off the deck from its undersurface and the “lithium-ion battery system,” which not only stores energy, but also performs another important role.
