Gulf countries are investing billions of dollars in renewable energy resources.
Qatar has built the largest solar technology manufacturing facility in the region.
Qatar, one of the world’s top natural gas producers, plans to convert two percent of its power output to renewable sources by 2020.
Environmentalists say it is a step in the right direction but tangible progress is still many years away.
Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid reports from Doha.
A couple years ago, we had a photovoltaic system installed at our home. Consisting of 18 235-Watt panels, I documented the installation in a video here on YouTube:
Since then, I’ve had a few requests for a tour of the system. Two problems with a tour are that the house is in the middle of nowhere, and that there’s really not a lot to see. Be that as it may, this video gives a quick tour of the system, showing the components and how they function.
I shot this with a Canon Vixia HF-S30 camcorder and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 digital camera. I edited it with Corel VideoStudio Pro x4.
