Here on our homestead it has always been about taking other avenues with our philosophy to off grid living. We didnt want to bring the GRID with us. In fact we really wanted to make sure that if anything happened and we didnt have privy to ANY electricity we could still run the homestead!
So when we had the opportunity to work from the ground up we took it and ran. In stead of investing in a bigger system and spending money there we started with the design of the home!
Utilizing a passive solar design we have saved in cooling and heating and it has given us a sustainable HOME that is super energy efficient in all areas! We use less wood, less electricity, less lights, and NO AIR conditioning ! How can it be?
We maintain around 68 degrees during 100 plus degree weather in our home!
THAT comes from passive solar.
