The typical electric/gas water heater is the 3rd largest energy consumer in most homes and one of the easiest to save money on.
Heat your water by the sun, It’s FREE! A solar water heater can be used stand alone or as a supplement to your existing water heater.
This solar water heater is designed for minimal head pressure against solar powered pumps or city water pressure, so you get a good flow where needed. It also has more volume than most solar water heaters. It heats water in summer and winter, as long as there’s some sunshine and can be drained for freezing temps.
If you’re the DIY type, I can provide you with complete step by step instructions (including materials list) to guide you step by step in making your own solar water heater and begin saving money immediately.

In this video I show a project I am working on, turning cheap solar lights into a full 12 volt Solar panel!
Power output of this set is about:
Open circuit voltage: 19.8-20 volts DC
Current at full sun: ~20-40mAh
Battery pack specs:
7 x 1.2volt AAA @ 300mAh = 8.4volts @ 300mAh
Batteries get a full charge in about 4-6 hours from the homebuilt panel. There is a diode in the panel circuit to stop the batteries from draining back to the panels that I salvaged from a cheapie speaker system.
