Power is transmitted at 90 degree without bevel gear. Gears have become an integral part in many power transmitting machines. However their biggest drawback is that their manufacturing is very difficult. Also they require proper maintenance and can only transmit power between short distances. Bevel gears (used for transmitting power between shafts at right angle) have a difficult design. But this difficulty can be overcomed by using a a power transmitting element other than gears. This is capable of transmitting power at right angles without any slip or loss. It is very cheap yet useful project.
