Campervan Build #20 – 100 Watt Off Grid Solar Power Build
I finally figured it all out! This is a How I Did it, NOT a How To, I made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot. Attempt at your own risk.

I heavily relied on Conor from http://thrivingminimalist.com/ ‘s solar article and I ordered everything he used, except his battery link goes to 12 volt batteries instead of 6 volt batteries, a major mistake I overlooked that cost me a lot of time! I made a ton of mistakes I know, I researched as many safety videos as possible but still messed up, in the end I did it though! Here’s Conor’s Solar video: https://youtu.be/tElO3Io7zZA

I ended up using 2 – 12 volt golf cart batteries run parallel to create a 12 volt battery bank for my system. (I had wanted to use 4 – 6 volt batteries but mistakes were made and I had to adapt.)

Today is a good day to climb up the roof to check the solar panels to see how they have been doing for all these years.

Installed solar panels are 4 pieces CDR King 250w and 12 pieces 100w solar panels connected to Chinese made grid-tie inverters Decen 1500w and a generic Sun 1500w.

I used a GoPro Hero 4 Silver in filming and using a 1080p 60fps settings, strapped to a hardhat.Thanks to my brother Rufus for letting me borrow his awesome action camera!
