Here is a look at our new Zareba 15 mile battery powered charger. As noted in the video, when you see “15 mile” or “50 mile” or whatever, that refers to the distance the charger will charge ONE strand of wire with no undergrowth and so forth. So, a 15 mile charger on a fence with 4 strands of wire will effectively charge a fence only 3.75 miles (15 divided by 4), again with no undergrowth grounding it out. Our little area is a tiny fraction of that distance, so the 15 mile charger provides plenty of juice, even with the occasional small stick laying on the fence. Perfect for our needs.
