Homemade AC Air Cooler. Simple DIY. air cooler is made with a 2 gallon bucket, pvc pipe, computer cooling fan and ice. (small solar panel optional). works great for “personal” space cooling. fan used is a “b-blaster 120″. draws only 3.84 watts (any 4 watt or higher “12v solar panel” will run it full speed). high airflow 103 cfm (cubic feet per minute). bucket holds roughly 8 lbs of ice cubes at a time (or an 8 pound ice block). in testing, cubes lasted 3 to 4 hours in 82F air (block lasts longer – roughly twice as long). no inner styrofoam liner is used on this one. i put the bucket in a metal pot to catch any condensation. (to due extremely dry/arid conditions (5% humidity) there wasn’t any)
