I am using the Solar Gorilla in conjunction with the Power Gorilla because this is a mini-system which can generate energy from the sun (or light) and store it for later use.
The power gorilla has a cut off device built in so that when the sun goes down energy is not being drained from the battery. If you use the solar Gorilla as a stand alone device, then you run the risk of this happening.
I think this is why people give it bad reviews. It is early days for me at the time of this review (2 months into summer), but all I can say is that the system works for me.
