This is my Solar Panel System that can operate completely off the grid or as a grid tie system. This system has a 1.8kw solar panel bank and 1800 Ah of battery storage capacity at 12 VDC. It also functions as a transfer switch for a generator when the power to the building is lost from the grid. This system also has a 2kw continuous, 4kw peak inverter for the 110 VAC appliances. The 220 VAC Air Conditioner uses a 5kw continuous, 10kw peak inverter. This system has many fail safes built in. These include: over amperage shutdown, low voltage shutdown, inverter failure transfer switch, solar pannel failure transfer switch, and backup battery chargers for battery protection.
Every Solar Array is different. Ours is a 2k array. The pole mount was designed orgially with our wind turbine which was a 2k also. SO assuming lots of power. BUT the solar guy didn’t realize the wind on the up here wasn’t what HE thought. We are still working on the array and thinking now of adding more panels and addressing the batteries.
