I have been showing with the free power from the sun. I have a DC shower pump in my bathroom shower stall which is powered from the energy from the sun through solar panels. And I use the sun to heat up hot water for my showers. All for free.
Many of you will remember my DC powered shower in the tiny house on wheels. I received this as a gift in the mail a while back from one of my viewers. I use this all the time for showering because it is so convenient.
It is installed in my normal tiny house shower stall.
I use a Coleman camp shower to heat up water using the energy from the sun. This is basically a black bag which holds 5 gallons of water. It has a shower head and a tube running out of it. Normally you are supposed to tie it up in a tree and use is as a self contained shower.
But I use it to heat up my shower water and then pour the hot water into a bucket in the tiny home bathroom.
The water gets up to about 120 degrees F after three hours in the sun. This is hot enough that you may have to mix it with some cold water for you comfort. I generally take my shower after the sun has gone down a bit and the shower water has cooled to a comfortable level.
Now I have a fee hot shower all the time.
I still have the propane shower system which is good for cloudy or rainy days.
It feels good though to be showering with free energy.
