The “Tiny Giant” is built by Alpine Tiny Homes. It is based on a triple-axle trailer and measures a total length of 39 ft (11 m). It has a total floorspace of 390 sq ft (36 sq m). It’s finishing is made in beetle kill pine on the walls and ceiling, with Cali Bamboo flooring. There 2 lofts, just above the washer/dryer storage serves as a living room and will include two lounge chairs, a small home office area, and an entertainment center. While the master’s bedroom is accessed by a staircase with handrail and is particularly large, for a tiny house. It measures 17 ft (5 m)-long, and includes a large 10 ft (3 m)-long wardrobe and a storage chest. It also has a kitchen with lots of storage. The bathroom has a shower/bath made from a repurposed horse trough, plus a sink and toilet. Lastly, a Goal Zero solar power system to allow the Tiny Giant to run totally off-grid and it also has water tanks for fresh, gray, and black water.

I rig up a 400 watt, 48V solar panel to charge a 1970′s electric car. This is direct charging, no use of an inverter, AC power, wall power, or other battery charger.
The sun shines on the panel and creates current that goes through a solar charge controller straight to the batteries.
Panel is sized to recharge the batteries in 5 hours of sun from a typical 50% battery discharge.
