Off grid solar systems are fairly simple. In this video I show you how to put together the most basic of systems with just a small solar panel, a battery and a cheap solar charge controller.
You could quickly expand this system to power lights, charge your mobile phone, power a sound system. You could even power an inverter and start powering TVs, games consoles etc.
I fit this simple system in my caravan. When the caravan is in storage – without any available power – the battery can self discharge a little bit. To ensure my motor mover will work when we fancy getting away, I fit this small monocrystaline panel to maintain the battery.
